What is Stretch Therapy ?
What is Fascia?
Your fascia is the connective tissue that surrounds and weaves through your entire body: including muscles, bones, joints, and organs. The structure of your fascia directly impacts everything you do. From your posture to your daily movement patterns.
Poor fascia structures can result in poor movement abilities and pain! When one area of the fascial system is affected, because it is interconnected to all areas of the body, you can experience pain in different ways and parts of your body.

Stretch Therapy (ST) is,
an assisted, one-on-one, table based approach to stretching.
With ST, I focus on creating space for your joint capsules. Working with and from the awareness of our fascial nets (which hold your muscles like a sling), I move your body in ways that promote the tissues to deeply relax, unwind, and unstick itself so that the muscles and surrounding tissues can activate/move with ease.
ST has shown to effectively;

-
Release tension, aches and pains.
-
Promote muscle recovery.
-
Reduce the effects of chronic issues.
-
Promote and increase range of motion and alignment.
-
Increase performance ability
-
Increase energy, mood, and sense of well-being!
What to expect?
We will work off a massage table with stabilization straps. Your session will consist of assisted stretches where we’ll focus on letting go of excess tension and allowing the body to move freely. Since we’ll be moving the body, comfortable, stretchy clothing is recommended.
Get ready to feel that lighter, taller, looser feeling that all my clients consistently experience and love!

Client Highlight:
Jenny, first came to me because months of inactivity and years sitting at a desk were starting to make simple tasks difficult.
Movements, such as simple yoga poses, she once felt confident in doing became a struggle.
Not able to get back to her regular feeling self on her own, she reached out for first session!
Immediately she noticed a difference and within a few sessions she was touching her toes, walking with reduced tension in her legs, and doing poses that she once thought would take months to get back to.
Now she’s on a monthly program, adding more activity to her week and even having her Pilates instructor commenting on the difference FST has made!

Is ST covered under my insurance?Short answer NO. ST is not accepted under extended medical and I myself do not have certifications that can be used for traditional normal extended health service. It could be if you find a practitioner that is also a Physio, Chiro, Kin or RMT or you have an health and wellness plan that is open and accepts yoga and gym memberships. I have had a few clients that can claim these services under their "wellness" sections.

How does ST compare to massage therapy, physiotherapy, chiropractors, etc?"The main difference is how ST moves the body through movement. This allows for the body to experience the movement patterns in a state of release. This encourages the body to reassociate pain, discomfort, and release tension that might be putting the body out of alignment. Since ST doesn’t focus solely on one specific area of the body, but attempts to address the entire system, the results are felt throughout the whole body. Enhancing the longevity of the results.

How often should you come in for ST sessions? It can take a few sessions for you and your body to get used to the feeling of releasing and letting me stretch your body! With that said, there is no magic number. Clients see me weekly like any other practice. It helps them and makes them feel amazing! Others see me monthly, because they received so much out of our first sessions they come back for maintenance to stay on top of it all!
-
Do I have to be in pain to see you?Not at all ! Be proactive! You’ll benefit greatly from a monthly stretch. Your body will be able to adapt and react much quicker when the fascia stays mobile, supple, and healthy!

How does this compare to other energy work?First, I beleive that all energy work is amazing and when you are open to receiving the benefits will find you! Access Bars, is a practice focused on the head and the 32 points that hold all your emotions, feelings, throughts from all your life and past lives (if you subscribe to that point of view). It's not about wrong or right, good or bad, only the creation of more for you and the world!
-
Do I have to have someone wrong with me see you?Not at all ! There is nothing wrong with you for starters, I view that point of view as more of a misalignment and my body and mind trying to get you attention. So no, you can be the most joyful person and still benefit from getting your bars run! You'll end up creating more joy and then the opportunites are endless for you unique life!

How do I know it's working? There isn't a magic sauce answer to this. People expereince the benefits very differently. Some immediatly feel their energy and mood shift. Other notice how much calmer their mind is or how their normal triggers in life aren't as potentent anymore. Physical changes have also been noted. People reporting they feel and look younger. Their chronic pains have decreased or disappeared. Others expereince the benefits becasue others point of shift in their actions or behavious that they have notices!

How often should I get my bars run?First ask youself and your body, is it time to get my bars run again? Feel if that is light to you, then yes...if it's heavy or sticky, then no not time yet. Weekly bars is amazing, but not always feesable with time or financials. I started with every few months and then I really wanted to make some leap and bounds in life so I would get mine monthly and increased it if I felt I was getting stuck in overwhelm or points of view that I couldn't not shake easily! There is no way you can "overdose" on bars! The frequency is up to you!
